Why we built JunkRabbit in Phoenix

Valley junk removal is dominated by a handful of national chains that charge a brand premium for a job dozens of local haulers already do for less. The problem was never supply. It was that you couldn't find the good local crews, compare them, or trust the price.

So we built the bridge. You send a photo; we identify every item and price it from real Valley market data; vetted, insured haulers compete for your job; and you get the cheapest one at one transparent flat price — the garage load, the estate staging, the drive across the Valley already in the number. And because Arizona doesn't tax the junk-removal service, there's no tax line at checkout. No on-site "estimate," no upsell at the door, no surprise surcharges.

That last part is the part we care most about. The default in this industry is still that nobody tells you the price until a truck is in your driveway and two people are standing in your garage — which is a negotiating position dressed up as a service model. We'd rather put the number in writing first and be judged on whether we hold it.

What "built for the Valley" actually means

These aren't slogans. They're the specific operating facts that make a Phoenix junk-removal job different from the same job in Chicago, and we built around each one.

• The garage is the basement. Arizona homes are slab-built on caliche — no basements — so the garage is where decades of stuff piles up, at the front of the house, at ground level, in full view of the street. Clearing it is the most common job we do, and we haul it from the garage, never the curb, so the HOA never sees it.
• We start before the sun does, June through September. The Valley routinely runs past 110°F in summer, which shortens the productive workday and makes heavy lifting genuinely unsafe by afternoon. So we schedule early-morning crew windows in those months. It's not a premium tier or an upcharge — it's how the work gets done safely, and it means your job is usually finished before the day gets ugly.
• We load from the garage because the Valley is HOA-saturated. Across Chandler, Gilbert, Peoria, North Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Surprise and Anthem, association covenants restrict how long bulk can sit at the curb and fine residents who exceed the window. Meanwhile the city's own bulk program is now an appointment you only get four of per calendar year. Staging at the curb is how people get letters. We back up to the garage or driveway on a scheduled window instead, and nothing is ever visible out front.
• No sales tax on the service. Arizona's Transaction Privilege Tax has no classification for labor-only junk hauling, so the flat price is the price — a real, honest difference from most metros, and one we'd rather explain than quietly pocket.
• Insured, vetted haulers. Every crew on the platform is background-vetted and carries liability insurance, and we issue same-day Certificates of Insurance for the buildings that require them. Arizona has no statewide junk-removal license to point at, so the honest signal is the insurance and the vetting, not a badge.
• Bilingual crews. Phoenix is 42% Hispanic (Statistical Atlas), and in Maryvale, South Phoenix, Laveen and south Glendale the share is far higher. • We know the snowbird estate. Mesa, Paradise Valley and Scottsdale downsizing and whole-home clears are routine — discreet, careful with fine furniture, donation-routed, and heavily concentrated November through April when the seasonal population arrives and properties turn over.
• We know the towers. Downtown Phoenix, Old Town Scottsdale and the Tempe Town Lake high-rises want a Certificate of Insurance naming the management company and a reserved freight-elevator window. We file both. There's no curb at those buildings anyway — everything goes out the dock.
• We know ASU move-out. Tempe empties in a single week in early May, and the mattresses, futons, mini-fridges and flat-pack debris all need to be gone at once. It's the one calendar-fixed surge in the Valley and we plan capacity around it.

Where we work

We run an inner-Valley footprint on purpose. Phoenix sprawls further than almost any US metro, and a hauler who claims the whole thing is a hauler who's going to be late. Covering a tighter radius well is what lets us offer same-day windows and hold flat prices instead of pricing in dead-head miles.

• City of Phoenix — Downtown, Roosevelt Row, Midtown, the Camelback corridor, Biltmore, Arcadia, Maryvale, South Phoenix, Laveen and Ahwatukee.
• Scottsdale & Paradise Valley — Old Town, North Scottsdale's gated communities, and PV estates.
• East Valley — Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Gilbert.
• Close-in West Valley — Glendale and Peoria.
• Not yet — Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Goodyear, Avondale, Anthem and Queen Creek. There's real demand out there, especially in the 55+ estate belt, and it's our next expansion. We'd rather say "not yet" than take the job and show up two hours late.

How it works

• 1. Get a quote — pick items, choose a truck size, or upload a photo. The $75 minimum covers the smallest single pickups; garage and whole-home jobs price as truck-fill starting at $325.
• 2. Review & accept — see an itemized flat price (no tax line); adjust anything; accept and we schedule.
• 3. Best hauler matched — vetted, insured local crews compete; you get the best price, picked up as soon as today.

What we won't do

A short list, because it says more than a long list of promises. We don't quote a price and then revise it in your driveway. We don't publish review counts or star ratings we can't substantiate. We don't cut live electrical — a spa or an appliance disconnect that needs an electrician needs an electrician. We don't claim things get recycled when they don't; usable furniture is donated to Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona, St. Vincent de Paul, Habitat for Humanity ReStore and the Salvation Army, metal and e-waste go to real recycling channels, refrigerant appliances get certified recovery, and the honest remainder goes to a City of Phoenix transfer station.
