It's worth saying plainly, because families ask: no municipal program in the Valley will empty a house. Phoenix Public Works runs bulk trash by appointment — a maximum of four collections per calendar year, scheduled up to three business days out, with material set out no more than seven days ahead of collection. That program is built to take one curb pile from one household. An estate is many truckloads of furniture, appliances, boxes, garage contents and a lifetime of accumulation, and the program offers no mechanism for that — plus every item still has to be carried from inside the house to the street by someone.
The surrounding cities aren't a way around it. Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa and Scottsdale each run their own bulk schedules with their own caps and set-out windows, so if the property is outside Phoenix proper, check that city's rules — but expect the same shape of limit. And in the master-planned and gated communities where so much Valley estate work happens, the HOA covenants restrict staging anything at the curb in the first place. Emptying an estate in this market is a private-hauler job; the only real question is whether you get a fixed number for it up front or find out at the end.
For an executor, where things went is as important as that they went, so this is the part of the job we document.
