The City of Phoenix program — which covers Phoenix proper, not Peoria — is now appointment-based: at most four collections per calendar year, scheduled up to three business days out, and items may go out no more than seven days ahead. In Vistancia, the lake-area communities and the newer 85383 subdivisions, the covenant shortens whatever window the city gives you — often to the hours immediately around a scheduled collection. Two calendars, and the stricter one wins. Which is why the West Valley answer isn't "wait for the truck," it's "get it off the property without ever putting it out front." Usable furniture and household goods go to donation — Goodwill of Central & Northern AZ, Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Salvation Army all operate on this side of the Valley, so a working patio set or an intact dresser doesn't have to become landfill volume, and you can have a receipt for it. Peoria homes are slab-on-grade with no basements, attached two- and three-car garages, and — especially on the north end — noticeably bigger lots with a side gate, a back patio and often a shed or a pool area. Big-lot addresses just mean a longer carry from the back gate, which is in the price, not an extra.
